BANGKOK - Japan unleashed a 14-0 fury at the end of the first quarter to effectively seal the issue as Japan made it to their first FIBA Asia Women's Championship final in 10 years after beating Chinese Taipei 74-56 here on Saturday.

Japan also became the second team after South Korea from Asia to qualify for the 2014 Women's Basketball World Championship to be held in Turkey from September 27 to October 5. Chinese Taipei will take on China in the battle for bronze and the last berth to Turkey.

Oga Yuko and Yoshida Asami combined for 13 of Japan's first quarter points as Japan went into a double-digit lead and let Chinese Taipei gasping.

Tokashiki finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds with Mamiya Yuka adding 15 points and 5 boards. Oga dished out 5 assists to go with her 15 points and 4 steals.

Tsai Pei-Chen's game-high 19 points for Chinese Taipei went in vain against the Japanese rampage.
