Deputy Director-General and research fellow, Research Department of Rural Economy, Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC)
From 1984-1988, he studied at Department of Sociology of Peking University and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in law. From 1991-1992, he studied as a visiting scholar at Department of Global Health and Population, Harvard University. From 1997-1999, he was a member of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD).
From 1988-1989, he was an intern researcher at Rural Observation Office of Rural Development Research Center of the State Council. From 1990-1994, he worked respectively as a program officer, Deputy Director and assistant research fellow at International Cooperation Department of Rural Economy Research Center (RERC) of the Ministry of Agriculture. From 1995-1997, he was Deputy Director and assistant research fellow at Macroeconomic Research Office of RERC. From 1998-2002, he was Director and associate research fellow at Market and Trade Research Office of RERC. From 2003-2008, he served respectively as Deputy Director, associate research fellow and research fellow at Small Town Reform and Development Center of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). From 2009-present, he has been working with DRC and taken the posts respectively as Director, Deputy Director-General and research fellow at Research Department of Rural Economy of DRC.
He is concurrently assistant to Dean of China Institute for Rural Studies of Tsinghua University and Deputy Secretary-General of Academic Committee.
