 可回收的舊報(bào)紙 scrap-newspaper

點(diǎn)擊有關(guān)兩會(huì)的新聞，一個(gè)日常毫不起眼但卻經(jīng)常被公眾掛在口邊的詞--"廢舊的，可回收再利用的"--竟然成為兩會(huì)的一大亮點(diǎn)。據(jù)報(bào)道，今年參加"兩會(huì)"的代表、委員們使用的鉛筆，將由木質(zhì)改成紙質(zhì)；而溫家寶總理召開(kāi)的新聞?dòng)浾甙l(fā)布會(huì)的請(qǐng)柬，也將使用以回收的舊紙為原料制成的再生紙。由此可見(jiàn)，建設(shè)節(jié)能社會(huì)、提倡環(huán)保理念，已成為黨中央的一大重要決策。

They are but one of the environmentally-friendly moves by the NPC and the CPPCC to set an example in building a "saving society," where energy conservation, waste reduction and respect for nature are integral to the concept.
報(bào)道中的scrap-newspaper pulp就是"以回收的舊報(bào)紙為原料而制成的紙漿"，scrap 在這里是形容詞，意思是articles that are discarded or waste for the purpose of reprocessing（廢棄的，供可回收再利用的），由此，我們可得出日常所說(shuō)的"廢舊電池"就是scrap-battery，而"廢物，垃圾堆"則可用scrap heap來(lái)表達(dá)。
Scrap表達(dá)"廢棄"的意思時(shí)，也可用作動(dòng)詞，如：I decided to scrap my plans（我決定放棄我的計(jì)劃）。除此之外，scrap在俚語(yǔ)中可表示"爭(zhēng)吵，毆打"，如：Let's not have a scrap about it（咱們別再為這件事抬杠了）；Those two will scrap at the least provocation（這兩個(gè)人稍有口角就會(huì)扭打起來(lái)）。
