Police in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province and their Hong Kong counterparts intercepted 282 smuggled turtles in a border area between the two cities. Experts say the turtles are likely to be an endangered species, although they still need confirmation.The reptiles were packed in 13 boxes intended to be smuggled into Hong Kong via the mainland city. The case remains under investigation.
