BEIJING - Heavy rainfall will hit southern China and the regions south of the Yangtze River, the country's meteorological authority forecasted on Saturday.
From Saturday evening, rainstorms will affect the provinces of Anhui, Hunan, Jiangxi and Guizhou over the next 24 hours, with between 50 and 90 millimeters of rain, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement.
Parts of Inner Mongolia, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Sichuan will see moderate or heavy rain, the statement said.
The center warned of possible geological disasters in areas with severe weather, and cautioned locals to avoid entering mountain and river areas.
