        Top five car-hailing apps

        Majority of on-demand chauffeured service users find cell phone apps make their mobility easier, and tend to use them more frequently, according to a Nielson Company's Greater China's report released in February.

        The survey polled 4,000 customers and 320 drivers in 13 large cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, from December 2015 to January 2016. It showed that 71 percent of the passengers feel the mobile phone car-hailing apps have eased the difficulties in taking taxis, and 78.4 percent use the apps more than before.

        The research also looked into the user experience of the apps and services, and found that Uber topped the peers overall. Here are the top five car-hailing apps in Chinese mainland:
