If you're planning to live, work or study in Shanghai for a year or more, you'll need to complete a health check at the International Travel Healthcare Center. This step is crucial for applying for residence and employment permits. Below, you'll find all the essential information to guide you through the process.

        Location:

The Shanghai International Travel Healthcare Center is situated at No 15 Jinbang Road in Changning district.

        Reception hours:

Health checks for expats are available between Monday and Friday, 8 am to 11 am.

Additional services are also offered based on demand on afternoons from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday.

        Appointments:

You must book your appointment at least two weeks in advance.

        Documents required:

        1. Passport: Original and photocopies of the photo page, visa page/visa-free entry page, and any info update pages.

        2. Photos: Three recent 2-inch full face photos (no hats).

        3. You'll need to sign the Health Check Application Form and the Informed Consent Form and bring them with you.

        4. Additional documents:

        (1) For work visa applicants: Employment certificate issued by the Shanghai Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and a photocopy of your employer's business license or your work permit.

        (2) For student visa applicants: Your student ID card or admission letter.

        (3) For family accompanying: A photocopy of the business license of your family member's company or other relevant certificates.

        (4) For other purposes: This includes visiting family, purchasing property, seeking medical treatment, getting married, or other reasons for coming to Shanghai. You'll need the original and a photocopy of your real estate certificate or the registration form of temporary accommodation issued by the police.

        5. If you have a previous health check report: Bring the original report, including the chest X-ray film and laboratory result if the check was done within the last six months in your home country (or region).

        Collecting your health certificate:

You can pick up your health certificate in person four working days after your health check. Alternatively, you can also choose to get your certificate by delivery.
