A three-month-old baby was sent to hospital "drunk" in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Wednesday after breastfeeding, the China News Service reported on Thursday.
The baby's mother, Zhang Xin, drank about half a liter of liquor at a party before nursing the crying baby when she returned home. The baby fell asleep about 20 minutes after feeding. Noticing the baby's face had become red and hot, and attributing these symptoms to a fever, she turned to a doctor who confirmed the baby had become drunk after feeding on her breast milk, affected with alcohol the mother had consumed.

Boy, 6, walks 5km home alone
A 6-year-old boy walked five kilometers home alone after getting separated from his mother in Nanjing, in East China's Jiangsu province on Oct 7, the Jinling Evening News reported on Thursday.
The boy, nicknamed Xiao Jie, strayed from his mother while the pair were at a supermarket. Though unable to remember the exact route home, he followed a familiar bus line, running after passing buses without asking for help from anyone.

Holding a sneeze bursts eardrum
A woman burst her eardrum by holding in a sneeze at a wedding ceremony in Nanjing, in East China's Jiangsu province during the National Day holiday, the Yangtze Evening Post reported on Friday.
The woman, surnamed Chen, pinched her nose to prevent sneezing while serving as a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding ceremony, for fear of losing face. She attended hospital later that night due to extreme pain in her ear. A medical examination revealed that she had suffered a perforated eardrum.

6-year-old girl turns robber straight
A recently detained robbery suspect,surnamed Liu, confessed that a 6-year-old girl convinced him to quit robbery by offering two coins worth two yuan (33 US cents) in Qinhuangdao, in North China's Hebei province, the Hebei Daily reported on Wednesday.
When the 6-year-old girl and her mother were confronted by the robber on their way home, the girl offered two coins to the knife-waving robber and pleaded with him to "please let my mother go by accepting my pocket money and go home". The robber, overcome with tears, ordered them to leave without stealing anything from them.
The report quoted the suspect as saying that the girl reminded him of his daughter who used to take two coins from him every day.
