Magnolia flowers, known as Xinyi in Chinese, are in blossom in Mianyang's Jiangyou city, Southwest China's Sichuan province, on April 11, 2015. Pungent in flavor and warm in nature, the flower buds are gathered in spring and dried to be used as an important traditional Chinese medicine. Acting on the lung and stomach meridians, the dried flowers are used in the treatment of nasal obstruction, headache, runny nose and loss of smell. [Photo by Jiang Mingda/For chinadaily.com.cn]
