The most recent heavy rain flooded the popular tourist site of Fenghuang Ancient Town in Central China's Hunan province. However, the rain didn't shadow tourists' enthusiasm in visiting the scenic area, which is renowned to the world for its time-honored houses and cultural relics. Fenghuang, or phoenix, is "the farthest from the public and nearest to the heart", according to New Zealand author Rewi Alley, who also wrote that it "is one of the two most beautiful towns in China".[Photo/IC] |
