Chinese international football player Zhang Xizhe of Bundesliga's Wolfsburg club was listed as "five players to watch" in the league on the official website of FIFA.
The 23-year-old Chinese midfielder was among Bayern's Bastian Schweinsteiger, Dortmund’s Kevin Kampl, Bayer Leverkusen's Son Heungmin and Hanover 96's Didier Ya Konan as Bundesliga's high-expected players in the coming season.
Zhang has topped the assists rankings in Chinese Super League twice, signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Wolfsburg last month.
He set up for Bas Dost to score in a 4-1 friendly victory over Ajax Cape Town in his debut for the Wolves during their winter training period in South Africa.
"His transfer has attracted a lot of media attention. He's one of the best players in China and he'll be a real help to us," said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs.
Wolfsburg will face Bayern Munich, the only team currently above them in the standings, on Friday.
"I'll be going all out against Bayern," Zhang said.
