About 500 leaders of government departments, sub-districts, and State-owned companies in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, visited more than 1,200 local enterprises within one week.
The six companies directly owned by the Liangjiang government, including Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Development & Investment Group Co and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Industrial Development Group Co, serve many companies in international trade logistics, aerospace and aviation, high-end equipment, digital economy, modern finance, international consumption, exhibitions and cultural and creative events.
Cadres of these companies visited industrial parks and enterprises to listen to their business problems and ask them what the government can do to help.
In addition, leaders also informed enterprises about favorable policies issued by the central, Chongqing, and Liangjiang governments.
Since the beginning of this year, many firms have seen shrinking order volumes, unsmooth export channels, and insufficient industrial chain supporting facilities. "We have increased operational costs to ensure a stable supply of chips, so we hope the new area can help find more reliable chip providers and offer some subsidies for the chip shortage," said a manager from one of Changan Ford's workshops.
Another manager from SANY's Chongqing smart manufacturing industrial park also expressed hope that the government will issue a building permit for the park's gatekeepers' offices and sewage processing stations and green light the construction of the firm's new projects.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
