The National Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Talent of Liangjiang New Area recently registered three new overseas talent programs, raising the total number of programs to 16.
He Jie, one of the co-founders of an e-commerce firm that just moved into the base, is an ambitious entrepreneur born in the 1990s. "E-commerce firms usually prefer big cities such as Shenzhen or Hangzhou, but I think Chongqing also offers great business opportunities, and Liangjiang New Area provides the necessary conditions for innovation and entrepreneurship," said He.
The base has developed a set of new working patterns for overseas talent and acts as an effective platform for international exchange, expositions and technologcial commercialization.
It has already established partnerships with more than 20 international innovation organizations, including the Chile Embassy in China, Business Finland, and Harvard Club. It has cooperated with Slush – the largest innovation and business startup service platform in North Europe – to hold monthly global roadshows, in which investors and experts discuss hot topics in relevant industries.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
