As Labor's Day - or May Day - approaches, many people are finalizing plans for the short break, with some intending to go shopping or travelling and others aiming to head home to see their families. But many other city residents expect to be busier at work than usual – and their efforts will help everyone else enjoy a carefree holiday.

        Celebrating all workers

Fernando Chagas is a chef at a Brazilian restaurant in Beijing, and has lived in the Chinese capital for more than three years. The 27-year-old usually works during holidays but he says he does not mind as his family is not in China. He is very positive about his professional experience, saying that he is very happy when guests appreciate his dishes. [Photo by Bruno Maestrini/Asianewsphoto]
