Lord Sebastian Coe, president of the organizing committee of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, rides a bicycle along a street in Beijing, December 11, 2011, to promote environmentally friendly forms of transport. With the theme of “Green Olympics, Green future”, Coe launched the 'Olympic bicycles' at the British embassy in Beijing to "encourage embassy staff to take a low-carbon approach to travelling around the city for official business". Also, the London organizers hope the bicycles will be a popular form of transport for local residents and visitors to the Games next July. [Photo by Zou Hong/chinadaily.com.cn] |
