When I first met my father

        By Timmy123 (blog.chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2014-10-31 07:22

I’ve always wanted to write something about my beloved father, but had no idea what to say. I have checked photos that I took with him and found day-by-day he is getting older. I even forgot my father is already more than 50 years old and that means the days I will spend with him are growing fewer and fewer. Time goes by so fast; I even forget that I am already an adult.??

I don’t remember the date when I first met him; I just know I was approximately 4 years old. I spent the first four years of my life in my grandparents' residence in a remote village. My parents were struggling for money in another province and at that time I knew nothing about parents and didn't know what parents meant to me.

I didn't know I had parents until one afternoon my grandfather told me my parents had come back home! I jumped out of the door with curiosity and saw them coming towards me with smiling faces and held me tightly with strong arms.

A tall man in a white shirt stood in front of me, he was thin and of good stature. The twilight shone on his charming face and I swore?to God that he was the most handsome guy I had met in my first four years, just like the prince I’ve dreamed of thousands of times. That splendid, smiling expression still lives in my memory.

That was the day, the day on which I had seen him, a man, and my father. It was a memorable moment for me. So many years went by but the unforgettable moment remains because I knew there was man, who I called father, who gave me a beautiful feeling of knowing that my heart was safe with him today, tomorrow and for the rest of my life.

My father is a construction worker and has spent years on construction sites, no matter whether it was sunny or a thunder storm. I always described his job as hard labor. But this hard labor has given me power to face all the troubles that life brings me.

Every single day I spent with him was filled with laughter and happiness. I won’t say my father is a hero as for me he is just my friend, very close to my heart and loves me most. Now I work in another city but will always care for him, even if we are not together and if we are far away from each other.
