A completion ceremony for the demonstration factory of Z·Cycle Co, a green technology company, was held in Shanghai's Jiading Industrial Zone on July 12.
This marked Shanghai's first demonstration project for the comprehensive recycling and utilization of new-energy vehicle power batteries that was approved by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information.
The first phase of the demonstration factory received a total investment of 130 million yuan ($19.27 million). Its designed annual processing capacity is 10,000 tons.
It can provide new-energy power battery recycling, an intelligent evaluation of a battery's residual value, the life management of a battery system for cascade utilization, intelligent sorting of recycled batteries, visual traceability management of the whole process of recycling and disposal of batteries, as well as calculate the whole life cycle of lithium batteries.
Established in April 2019, Z·Cycle Co is a green technology company mainly engaged in the comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries that are used in new energy vehicles.
Currently, the company is deploying large-scale factories with high disposal capacities in places such as the Yangtze River Delta region, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province, and Sichuan province, and plans to complete the construction of the national recycling system and establish a coordination mechanism within five years.
