WASHINGTON -- China, the top buyer of US Treasury securities increased its holding in November 2015 after cutting it for two months running, the latest data from the Treasury Department showed on Tuesday.
China added its holdings of the treasuries by $9.7 billion to $1.2645 trillion in November 2015, while in the previous two months, China had cut its holdings by a total of $15.7 billion.
Japan, the second largest foreign holder of US treasuries, cut its holding by 4.3 billion dollars to $1.1449 trillion in November.
In November, overall foreign holdings of US Treasury securities rose to $6.1257 trillion from October's $6.0477 trillion.
