Shenyang-Haikou car-transportation train launched

As the first train carrying cars set off from Shenyang to Haikou on Nov 24, it marked the start of a totally new tourism project.
The project was launched by Shenyang Railway Bureau, and is targeted at citizens who need to transport cars for a self-driving tour.
The train, X216/7, operated by Shenyang Railway Bureau, runs every Thursday at 22:08. It sets off from Shenyang East Railway Station and arrives in Haikou city in Hainan province at 4:18 four days later –– a popular destination for self-driving tours.
The whole train is able to carry a total of 150 private cars at a time, and a single journey takes 104 hours.
All the private cars carried on the train service will get free transportation insurance, provided by the railway company.
In addition, the Shenyang Railway Bureau can also provide services including ticket booking, hotel booking and tickets for scenic spots, as well as tourist information.
