Fengcheng was named "2012 China's Best Ecological Leisure Attraction" at the 2012 China International Leisure Development Forum thanks to its profound historical and cultural accumulation as well as unique natural ecological landscapes.
The leisure development forum, sponsored by Insight China magazine affiliated to Qiushi magazine, is an international, authoritative, academic and diverse event. Having been held for five consecutive years, it is known as the "Boao Forum" in China's leisure field.
Fengcheng boasts rich tourism resources and numerous historical places of interests. It is working to become an important health and leisure tourism destination in Northeast China.
As the only city recognized from Liaoning province, Dandong will take this honor as an impetus to further increase comprehensive tourism competitiveness in the city.
The forum selected five awards: "Annual Leisure City," "Annual Leisure Person," "Annual Leisure Brand," "Annual Leisure Project," and "Annual Leisure Attraction," Yalu River Evening News reported.
