Islands, water, resorts and an important place in China's history rich history have helped make Hekou Scenic Spot a National AAAA-class tourist area and one of the better scenic sites along the Yalu River.
Hekou Scenic Spot is located in the town of Changdian Town in Dandong Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, about 56 kilometers from Kuandian County. The scenic site's three major attractions are Hekou Broken Bridge, Changhe Island and Longquan Villa.
Hekou Broken Bridge is one of the three places where the Volunteer Chinese Army crossed the Yalu River. Broken Bridge, formerly known as Qingcheng Bridge, is the first highway bridge connecting China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The bridge is 709.12 meters long, 25 meters tall and six meters wide. There are 22 piers. In 1951, the bridge was bombed by the US army, resulting in today's more aptly named Hekou Broken Bridge.
Changhe Island Korean Folk Village is a tourist resort surrounded by water and with beautiful scenery located along the China-DPRK border river. The island's green coverage rate is 60 percent. The village boasts more than 20 attractions such as four gothic European imitation villas and the unique Korean Folk Village. Manchu and Korean cuisines available at Changhe Island restaurants have won high praise from tourists.
Hotels, villas, business hotels and resorts of Longquan Villa provide year-round services for guests. Laogen Restaurant provides all-weather services. Hill Little Theater has shows all year round, making your travel even more interesting. Outside, the rural livestock and landscapes of farm vegetables, pot fish and small clumsy chickens invite tourists to linger for days. At night, they have a quiet view of Star Lake.
