2010 Shenyang International Ice and Snow Festival kicked off in Shenyang, capital of northeast China′s Liaoning Province, on Jan. 10, 2010.
Together with 2010 Shenyang International Ice and Snow Festival started the Shengjing Lamp Show and the Guandong Temple Fair.
The three events will last through February to March 1, consisting of 20 entertainment activities in five categories - folk custom culture, ice & snow carnival, experience & interactions, fashion appreciation, and festival entertainment. In addition to the snow & ice sculpture theme park, more activities on snow and ice will be launched for tourists, including newly-introduced magic carpets in the snow field.
Shengjing Lamp Show is a spotlight 2010 Shenyang International Ice and Snow Festival, making history by integrating ice and snow with lamps. The lanterns will be exhibited from the Qipanshan Gate all the way to the Guandong Film City.
Meanwhile, the number of lanterns will be extended to 5,000 this year from 2009 last year. They will comprise eight modern light sculptures, four lamp streets, five grand lamp corridors and six characteristic lamp streets in and out of the Guandong Film City.
Shennong Science and Technology Sightseeing Garden will organize a flower show, on which more than 10,000 varieties of flowers and rare fish will be shown to allow visitors experience the culture of South Asia in winter days.
