A modern agriculture demonstration base established at Mingyue Mountain

The "Jiangxi Overseas Chinese Youth Modern Agriculture Demonstration Base", which has been invested in by a returned overseas Chinese Tang Muyang, unveiled at the Mingyue Mountain scenic spot on May 4, 2012.

Selenium-rich and high-yielding camellia, selenium-rich chrysanthemum and honeysuckle will mainly be planted at this base, which covers a plantation area of over 333.33 hectares. The demonstration base is going to be built as a comprehensive base integrating the functions of plantation, scenery appreciation and tourism.

As much as 30 million yuan ($4.77 million) has been invested in the base. It has the potential to achieve an annual production value of 51 million yuan only for the plantation of selenium-rich chrysanthemum and can provide more than 2,000 job opportunities.
