This accounts for 20 percent of the total number, ranking Jiangxi the first in the whole country as confirmed by Professor Huang Jin, president of the Research Association of Danxia Landform Tourism Development.

After more than a month’s investigation and with the help of satellite remote sensing technology, Professor Huang Jin confirmed this information. Professor Guo Fusheng of the East China Institute of Technology aided in these efforts, discovering 69 spots of Danxia landform of various types, with a very high developing potential and high scientific, and aesthetic value.

Danxia landform is named from the Danxia Mountain in Guangdong province, featuring “the luster of Vermeil and Patina of sunglow.” With a history of 3 million years, its beautiful red color interesting shapes have long been appreciated.. As "Chinese Danxia" is rated the "World Heritage" in 2010, Danxia landforms found by Chinese scholars has been recognized by the world and draws more and more attention to home.

The Danxia landform resources have initiated the phrase, “double red tourism,” because the distinctive red Danxia landform is abundant as is the red revolutionary tourism in Jiangxi province. "After the confirmation, the development of Danxia landform resources in Jiangxi will have better prospects," according to Professor Guo. Danxia landforms distributes mainly in the East and Southeast Jiangxi province, which are also revolutionary bases, so there is a collection of natural Danshan scenery and patriotic education with “double red” tourism characteristics.
