Located in Xiangfan, an ancient city in central China's Hubei Province, Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd (DFAC) is a shareholding company with three factories: the Light-duty Automobile Factory, Diesel Engine Factory and Foundry Plant, and owns 50% of the stock in Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

The diesel engines of Dongfeng Cummins B series are based on the American Cummins Company's technology and independently produced by DFAC. The engine features a compact structure, a wide coverage of power, light in weight and low in oil consumption. The engine can be used as the matching equipment for various automobile types of heavy, medium and light duties or the matching power supply for engineering machinery, shipbuilding and power generator sets.
Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd is a joint venture with DFAC as the Chinese investor and produces mainly Cummins C series diesel engines, a new-generation product developed from B series engines. These engines feature greater horsepower and better fume exhaustion (up to EURO Standards), and have excellent performance records, and are therefore the ideal power choice in the 21st Century.
At present, Cummins diesel engines are in great demand and enjoy sanguine market potential. Dongfeng light-duty automobiles are enjoying robust sales with their market share increasing rapidly, and thusly they have topped the list of automobile producers of the same types since their debut in the market in 1996.
