Huaqiao leads China in e-commerce operation
        2012-03-09

Kunshan Amazon Operation Center in Huaqiao, Kunshan, southeast China’s Jiangsu province has become the most advanced electronic commerce operation center in China.

Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, set up its Kun operation center in Huaqiao, on Oct 27, 2011.

The operation center, with an area of 120,000 square meters, is the largest Amazon center in China, as well as the largest one outside America. It is also the largest and most advanced logistics center in China.

It has a world-class automated packaging line, order processing system, commodity studio and image processing platform.

The settlement of the center has stimulated the development of the e-commerce industry in Kunshan. A number of e-commerce enterprises, such as Newegg net, have also settled in the business park.

In the past seven years since it came to China, Amazon has transformed from an online book store into an online department store. Now it provides more than 260 thousand varieties of products from 28 categories, including electronics, home appliances, food, health care and apparatus.

Apart from the range of products, Kunshan Operation Center aims to offer convenient service to costumers in neighboring areas such as Shanghai, Zhejiang province and Anhui province. Orders filed before eleven o’clock in the morning in these areas will be delivered the same day.

According to vice operating president of Amazon, Marc Onetto, as the first electronic commerce companies to invest in China, Amazon will make efforts to enhance user experience and boost the development of e-commerce business in China.
