Guizhou province has promised to decrease its annual average PM10 concentration by 5 percent, according to an objective responsibility for controlling air pollution that it signed with the Ministry of Environmental Protection on January 7.
To implement an action plan to control air pollution, the Ministry of Environmental Protection signed the objective responsibility with 31 provinces around the country.
Guizhou has assigned the task to each city and prefecture, also signing the objective responsibility with them. The agreement ensures the target can be achieved as scheduled, according to the provincial environmental protection bureau.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection indicated that improving air quality for every province is a core part of the objective responsibility. Guizhou puts emphasis on PM10 concentration in the evaluation.
The State Council will issue assessment measures to examine each province's air quality. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environmental Protection will also circulate a notice of criticism and propose correction opinions to those that do not pass the examination.
