A charity donation ceremony about a highly sought-after recipe was held at the Sanmenhai World Geopark Square in Fengshan county, Hechi, on July 21.
The 104-year-old Yao doctor Chen Fengluan donated a longevity soup recipe, which her ancestors passed down from generation to generation, to Huayu Sansheng Group. As the beneficiary, the Hong Kong Fu Foundation and the Shenzhen Social Welfare Foundation will use all the income to be generated by the business development of the recipe for public benefit and environmental protection. Qi Yu, a famous singer who is the image ambassador of Shenzhen Social Welfare Foundation, accepted the donation from 104-year old Chen Fengluan.
Chen is the seventh generation holder of the longevity soup recipe. The documentary Longevity Code broadcast by CCTV-4 in 2013 made the recipe widely known across the country. Many merchants showed their interest to cooperate and turn it into business, but the centenarian turned them all down until she finally donated it for an exemplary good cause.
Wang Fengwen, the youngest son of Chen who is now 65 years old, said that the soup included 18 Chinese herbal medicines. Not only can it be drunk as herbal tea, but it is also known to cure illnesses.
