Food fest to highlight marine economy expo

Gourmet food from European and Southeast Asian countries, together with traditional Chinese food from Zhanjiang, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, will draw a culinary map along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The International Gourmet Festival, which will showcase examples of the tantalizing cuisines of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road countries, will be held alongside the 2015 China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE) at the Zhanjiang Olympic Sports Center from Nov 26 to 29.
There will be 120 booths at the 6,500-square-meter exhibition center, featuring local and foreign specialties.
An international food area will also display many kinds of special snacks from France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK.
Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan food area will host a Taiwan night fair and showcase snacks, fruits and souvenirs from Hong Kong and Macau. Local food area will put Zhanjiang's food culture under the spotlight.
Apart from food tasting, such activities as cultural performances, DIY sushi and fruit carving will also be held during the gourmet festival.
