Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing hopes that enterprises could make contributions to the growth and transformation of the city's economy despite current difficult economic conditions.
The mayor made this comment when he visited several key enterprises in the city and inspected the construction site of Zhanjiang bonded logistics center on June 15.
Wang also attended a symposium later and listened to reports presented by leading enterprises on the city's industrial economy.
He said that he was pleased to see the highlights of Zhanjiang's industrial economy and enterprises' technical innovation achievement.
"We should be aware that the economic situation is still hard, and therefore, it is difficult to achieve the industrial growth target. We should have a sense of crisis," Wang warned. He urged government departments to provide favorable environment for enterprise development.
The mayor also underlined that further economic development requires attracting social investment in modern industry, trade and business logistics, technology innovation, promoting mass entrepreneurship and accelerating the construction of the Southern Maritime Valley.
