Halal food, tourism and new energy cooperation was highlighted at the China-ASEAN Economic and Technological Cooperation Lanzhou Forum on July 9.

The forum is an important platform for economic and technological communication and cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and enterprises in Gansu, which promotes trade and investment.

Gansu has strong halal food, tourism and new energy industries, and benefits from trade with ASEAN countries. Bilateral investment and cooperation between Gansu and ASEAN countries has potential to develop further, according to ASEAN representatives.

By the end of June, 17 enterprises in Gansu had directly invested in ASEAN countries, while 102 enterprises from ASEAN countries had been approved to settle in the province, bringing in $2.09 billion of investment.

Gansu plans to enhance its transportation networks over the next 6 years to deepen economic and technological cooperation with ASEAN countries, according to Li Rongcan, vice governor of Gansu province.
