Thailand has officially issued a policy waiving visa fees for tourist visa applicants from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan as of Aug 9, 2014.
According to the Royal Thai Consulate-General of Xiamen, the initiative aims to boost tourism and will last for three months.
The political situation in Thailand has stabilized, and the country wants to attract more Chinese tourists in the coming months, said the office.
The policy does not apply to other types of visas such as the Transit Visa and the Non-Immigrant Visa.
