Li Wei, President of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), was invited to attend a ministerial council meeting hosted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on June 1. In The Economic Outlook segment of the meeting, Li delivered a keynote speech on the global economic situation, prospects and challenges for China's economic development, and the Belt and Road.
On June 2, Li was present at a high-level meeting of OECD’s Administration Committee and gave a speech, with a theme of “Speeding up economic restructuring and the transformation of the pattern of economic growth”, which was well received by representatives from the Ivory Coast, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Paraguay and Costa Rica. The representatives showed great interest in China’s economic development and expressed their hopes of cooperating with China in poverty reduction and economic and trade development.
As the co-chairman of the meeting, Li hosted the third and fourth section.
Cheng Guoqiang, director-general of DRC's International Cooperation Department, Hou Yongzhi, director general of the Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy, Zhao Jinping, director-general of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and Tao Pingsheng, vice-director-general of DRC’s General Office were present.
