According to a thorough briefing on December 10, Mangshi has attached great importance to the culture industry this year, focusing on jewelry, coffee and ethnic-featured food, and increased its production sharply, accounting for more than 4% of the city’s GDP.
As Dehong’s “Jewelry Industry Project” processed, Mangshi’s jewelry sales have significantly increased, surpassing 100 million yuan in 2009 and cumulatively exceeding 150 million yuan this year. On December 26, Mangshi will hold its first Pan-Asian Jewelry Crafts Fair, which last two weeks.
Hougu Coffee, the first Chinese coffee brand, located in Mangshi, annually produces 3000 tons of instant coffee powder and processes 7000 tons of coffee beans. Its products are distributed to domestic cities as well as exported to more than 20 countries, earning a processing value of 150 million yuan. In addition, a production line with an output of 10 thousand tons will be put into use this December.
With its colorful ethnic dining resources, Dehong has adopted many effective measures to promote the development of its food industry. In the national “Taste 2010” competition, Dehong’s ethnic-featured food has won 6 prizes.
