The Sichuan Provincial Art Performing Troupe for the Disabled was officially established in Sichuan's capital Chengdu last month.

The troupe is the first of its kind in the province.

The troupe says it gives preferential treatment in recruiting performers with hearing and physical disabilities, and dance and sign language instructors from around the country.

The troupe will also raise funds to promote creative activities to enrich disabled people's lifestyles, such as poems, songs, instrumentalism and dance.
