Lions walk beside a car
at Knowsley Safari Park on the outskirts of Liverpool, England, Wednesday April 8, 2009. The vast reserve land is home to many different animals including elephants, giraffes, lions, bongos, tigers and baboons. The birth of three calves over the last nine months has made the park a European hotspot for breeding the rare species, including two of the new meerkat pups, one of the dozen new ostriches and a new litter of lion cubs. The lion population at the park has now swelled to over 20 thanks to its successful breeding programme. [CFP]
