The move aims to introduce the hotpot to the world and help people fall in love with the city.
Contests to select the spokesperson, jointly hosted by Chongqing's Radio and Television Group and its hotpot association, will be held in mid-October around China, in north America, Australia and Singapore.
Contestants will have the chance to show their talents, as well as answer trivia questions about the hotpot.
Anyone between the age of 18 and 40, no matter where one is from, is eligible for the contests.
The first, second, and third winners will receive 1 million, 500,000 and 200,000 yuan respectively in cash as prizes.
