Yingkou Port , located at Ba Yuquan District of Yingkou city , in Lioaning Province, is the earliest port opened to foreign trade in Northeast China and the nearest seaport for Northeast China and Inner Mongolia.
Yingkou Port sped up its development, and became one of the hub seaports of China, a port official said.
In 2003, Yingkou Port had handled volume of 40 million tons and 400 thousand TEU containers transportation. In 2004, it had handled volume of 59.77 million tons and 583 thousand TEU containers transportation. And in 2005, the handled volume will be 75 million tons and 800 thousand TEU containers in the port.
At present, more than 120 ports in over 40 countries and regions have established transportation relationship with Yinkou Port. Container lines have connected Yinkou Port with all the main seaports of China.
Meanwhile, Yinkou Port has opened many international regular ship lines for container, for example to Janpan, Korea, Southeast Asia, HongKong and many internal branch lines, by which container can be transfer to international ports.
Now Yingkou Port consummates its main function day by day, has berths designed for container, grain, automobile, bulk cargoes, coal, final oil and liquid chemical products, the other kinds of cargo handled in Yingkou Port are steel, mineral power, fertilizer (put into bag), non-mental mineral products, stone, vegetable, fruit and etc. The traffic volume of steel , ore, non-mental mineral products and other cargoes in Yinkou Port takes the fiest place among all ports in Northeast China.
Facing the historic chance of vitalizing old industrail base in Northeast China and opening coastal region, Yinkou Port will take the opportunity to develop and construct port, and to play a role in fueling Yinkou economic development.
The development strategy of Yinkou Port is “ to construct a modern port with 100 million tons of capacity and to construct a international logistics garden”.
