China announced on Monday that it will launch an anti-dumping investigation
into potato starch imported from the European Union.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce, the ministry began on
Monday to look into whether dumping exists, the extent of the dumping and its
negative effects, if dumping is indeed confirmed.
The ministry advised that anti-dumping investigations usually take one year
to complete, but the deadline could be extended to August 6, 2007 under special
circumstances.
