        5 killed in magnitude 5.7 temblor in Jiangxi

        An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck a region between Jiujiang, a well-known summer resort on middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and Ruichang, both in East China's Jiangxi Province, at 8:49 a.m. Saturday, China National Seismic Observation Network said.

        China's Central Television said the earthquake had killed at least five people, three in Jiujiang and two in Central China's Hubei Province. A woman was severely injured in Jiujiang.

        The epicenter was monitored to be at 29.7 north latitude, 115.7 east longitude, according to the sources.
