Police seize 6.3 kg of "ice" in W. China municipality

Police in west China's Chongqing Municipality has seized 6.3 kg of "ice" in a recent move to crack down on drug trafficking, the largest drug case in the city since 1949, the local police source said.

On June 23, the drug traffickers Shen Anquan and Fu Zhengdian were captured by police in a tea house in Yuzhong District in downtown Chongqing when they were trafficking in "ice."

The police had followed the tracks of the drug traffickers as early as in May when the suspects bought "ice" from overseas. On June 21, Shen Anquan and three other males were examining their " cargo" at a crossroads of the city under the undercover surveillance of the police.

On June 23, the police netted the drug traffickers and found 6. 3 kg of "ice" hidden in a black bag, accumulating more than 70,000 pills in total, which outnumbered the total volume seized by police in the city last year, the police said.
