Panda to house in Taipei Zoo
A home has been built for pandas for Taiwan by the mainland.
Zhang Jiazhi, head of a Taiwan-based association for panda protection, says the Mushan Zoo in Taipei has spent more than six million US dollars renovating the home for the pandas. He adds that Taiwan experts, including university professors, zoo workers, and scientists from the panda research center in Chengdu will work on panda breeding this June and July. The Chinese mainland promised to give the Taiwan people a pair of pandas during the visit of Kuomintang chairman Lien Chan to the mainland in late April.
