Great forum, great Beijing
Richard D. Parsons, chairman of gthe board and CEO of Time Warner, spoke highly of the ongoing FORTUNE Global Forum and praised the support from the Chinese government and media at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Tuesday, May 17, 2005.
After the first day roundtables on China’s sports and cultural development, the FORTUNE Forum entered its main sessions stage on Tuesday. The 17th and 18th conferences at Diaoyutai include 12 general sessions and 14 concurrent sessions, covering topics mostly on China and Asian’s economy. Participants (CEOs) from all over the world also gave nod of the forum and thought highly of the China’s economic development. "I am positively confirmed of China's economy during this forum," said Wolfgang Driese, CEO of DveB Bank AG. "The forum has helped us know how open the Chinese government is... the ministers (from China) are very open, they don’t shy away from any questions... and it shows the Chinese government knows its growing responsibilities internationally,” he said. William Mitchell, CEO of Arrow Electronics Inc, said, “China has remarkable changes. The economic development is astonishing and has great momentum. The forum has broad speakers from both China and the world and that’s really good.” The forum is to conclude on May 18, 2005. |
