Central Committee Wang Zaixi said in Beijing Tuesday that the mainland expects
more consensus to be reached with James Soong, chairman of the People First
Party (PFP) in Taiwan, during his upcoming visit to the mainland.

range of agreements on the promotion of cross-Straits relations and the easing
of the escalating tensions with the Kuomintang (KMT) Party of China during its
Chairman Lien Chan's historic eight-day visit.

from the KMT," Wang said. "I believe Mr. Soong will demonstrate his own
characteristics during the coming visit", which is scheduled to start on
Thursday.
"Through concerted efforts, I believe we will reach more consensus on
promoting cross-Straits relations," Wang said.
