        China books women's pingpong title in Qatar

        China has booked the women's singles title of the ongoing table tennis tournament in Qatar as four of its players advanced to the semi finals.

        Chinese Olympic champion and world No.1 Zhang Yining struggled to a 4-3 victory over Romanian Steff Mihaela, while second seed Wang Nan whitewashed Zhang Rui of Chinese Hong Kong 4-0.

        Meanwhile, Niu Jianfeng defeated Pavlovich Viktoria of Belarus 4-2, and teenager Guo Yue upset South Korean Kim Kyung Ah 4-3.

        Zhang Yining will take on Niu Jianfeng, while Wang Nan plays Guo Yue for a final berth.
