TOEFL to be conducted on computer (Agencies) Updated: 2004-12-07 09:46 All TOEFL examinees will sit
the test on computer starting from September 2005 when the TOEFL organizer, the
Educational Testing Service (ETS), ends paper TOEFL tests worldwide.
The computerized TOEFL is not the paper test reformatted for the computer. It
is expected to focus on communication skills and be more difficult than the
paper tests.
It has four sections including listening, structure, reading and writing.
The ETS said TOEFL by computer would better reflect the way in which people
communicate effectively, include more performance-based tasks, and provide more
information about the ability of international students to use English in an
academic setting.
