Keegan charged for criticizing referee
The English Football Association (FA) charged on Tuesday Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan for his comments to the referee at the end of his team's 4-3 loss to Newcastle.
Keegan was unhappy with the decisions Dunn made and disputed the free-kick and penalty that gave Newcastle a 2-0 lead. He approached referee Steve Dunn after the match and told him that he was "not strong enough and made too many mistakes". Dunn has provided a detailed description of Keegan's comments in his match report. Keegan was charged with abusive or insulting words to Dunn and has until Nov. 8 to plead innocent or guilty to the charge. He could face a touchline ban.
