        Most beautiful eyes sparkling
        ( 2003-12-16 17:23) (eastday.com)

The first beauty pageant to select the girls with the most beautiful eyes in China ended last Saturday night at Xintiandi in Shanghai.

Chongqing native Li Na picked up the laurel and became Miss Beautiful Eyes Asia (China). With excellent performances in talent show, fashion show and intelligent contests, Li outplayed 11 contenders in the final rounds and won the highest audience rating in the live poll. Zhou Liang, from Shanghai, took home with a silver award.

Miss Beautiful Eyes Asia is a new pageant event sponsored by the contact lens producer IGEL and the fashion magazine Ray. First of its kind in Asia, though, it has pooled a lot of girls with beautiful eyes in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China) and Indonesia, since it started in July, 2003.

With each of the five places shortlisting their regional best to two, 10 girls will compete in the Hong Kong final next January for the ultimate winner, Miss Beautiful Eyes Asia.
