Tianjin to make huge investment in gas stations
        ( 2003-10-17 21:46) (Xinhua)

Tianjin will invest 105 million yuan (12.6 million US dollars) until 2007 in building 25 natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) filling stations for vehicles, according to the local infrastructure development plan.

About 75 million yuan (9 million dollars) will be spent on 15 natural gas stations, and 30 million yuan (3.6 million dollars) on 10 LPG stations.

Tianjin has nearly 570 million cubic meters of natural gas supply. The supply volume will rise by 500 percent in the next five years.

By 2008, the natural gas supply for Tianjin will not only meet the demand of the municipality's 1.8 million households and industrial uses, but also the demand of motorists.
