HK Chief Executive briefed by SARS experts
        ( 2003-06-27 10:43) (Xinhua)

Members of the Hospital Management and Administration Group under the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) Expert Committee paid a courtesy call on Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa here on Thursday.

The group began a three-day meeting to review the management and control of the SARS outbreak in Hong Kong, according to a government press release on Thursday.

Chairman Cyril Chantler briefed Tung on the group's plans and the issues they would look into.

Cyril said Hong Kong provided a front-line defense against the new virus and its experience in combating the disease was of great importance to other places around the world.

Tung thanked the members for their efforts and looked to them for expert advice on how to better prepare Hong Kong for any future outbreaks.
